Hello! Our names are Vickie Daley and Matt Allen, teachers at Aspen Elementary in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and we have started an Odyssey of the Mind team at our school. Per the program website, Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. Aspen Elementary is currently the only Odyssey of the Mind team in New Mexico. As coaches, we have been doing Odyssey of the Mind for 14 years and have seen numerous students go through the program that credit Odyssey with much of their future success. Thank you for your support!
